If there are many people and all of them are sitting in the same spot, you may want to give it another shot. If the atmosphere is quiet, then you have found a place that has a laid back vibe. Sit down and have a chat with the barista and the owner.

 

Before you give up on your date, ask the barista for recommendations. Chances are, they won't tell you what you're looking for, but they may be able to point you in the right direction. This is a great way to put a name to a face before you know it.

 

When dating in coffee shops, it's all about finding out about the person and their tastes. Most cafes will be open late. This is a great time to find out more about your date, even before you start talking.
